Thanks B

Today R and I took B to the grocery store to do a bit of shopping. While we were both unloading the cart B decided to pick up one last item. She got a pack of Rollo's and started opening it. She couldn't quite get it open so she came up to me and asked so nicely for help. She had ripped it so she could see the chocolate but just couldn't reach it. I had her take the candy to the cashier so we could pay for it and then I opened it for her! It was funny that she was so innocent and just needed a little help to get to the chocolate. I guess she found a sure fire way to get a treat...just open it while mommy is busy looking elsewhere!

Baby Snowman

About a week and a half ago R and I took B out in the snow while M was at school. R was snow blowing the driveway and I decided to go out and play with B. She loved it!

The snow was pretty deep so she had a hard time walking in it! I was funny watching her try to get around. I pulled her on the sled for a few minutes. The whole time on the sled she would put her hand over the side and scoop up snow to eat. Basically the whole time we were out she was eating snow!

Mommy took a turn snow blowing the driveway (a first for me) while R helped B build a "baby snowman." B has been requesting a baby snowman since the first big snowstorm. The snow wasn't great for snowman building but R managed to make a little one!

B loved the baby snowman! She loved it so much she decided to eat the grape eyes!! She still talks about how she ate the snowman's eyes! We had a fun morning in the snow...even if I did fall while snow blowing the driveway and again slipping on ice!!

Sunday Shoes

These remind me of summer so I thought I would give myself a little joy to look at while it is still freezing here!

Post Card

Yesterday morning I woke up to this image out my front door. It had been snowing for the better part of the two days prior. It was so nice waking up to bright, sunny blue skies. I think the trees make for a great post card. Of course, I'd rather be viewing that post card from a beach somewhere and not my front door! I guess I'll enjoy it since spring is supposedly only a month or three away!

Trouble

So...what kind of trouble can cute little girls cause? Lots! Today I let M have a friend over to play. Before she came we vacuumed the house and cleaned the basement (toy room). When the friend got here the girls all headed down to play in the basement. It was nice having a few minutes to myself while the girls had fun together. After about a half an hour M and B cam up looking like this!

That is Styrofoam pieces covering their bodies. I was pretty upset because the Styrofoam has been "played" in before and was a huge pain to clean up. (Imagine, vacuum clogged, sticking to everything and everyone) Before I let them know I was upset I thought I better grab the camera. B and M seemed quite proud of themselves before I told them they were in trouble. M asked if she was grounded and I said Yes! (Just no more T.V. for today!) She has been asking a lot lately if she is grounded. I don't know where she learned it but I think she is kind of asking for being grounded...I'm sure that will change with age!

The Styrofoam was all over...clothes, hair, a whole pathway up the stairs and needless to say all over the basement.

I got the vacuum out and tried vacuuming the girls off but we just had to change clothes in the end. I vacuumed both of their hair which M was okay with but B was not too thrilled about it!

M couldn't figure out why I was taking pictures if I was upset. I had to explain I wasn't mad...just disappointed in her choice to play with such a messy thing, one I had already told her to stay out of.

I asked M what they were doing with the Styrofoam and she said they were super women (not supermen...because we're girls mom) and were going swimming. The Styrofoam is in a HUGE box that my mom sent out with a framed picture in. I decided to keep all the Styrofoam in the box to use when I have to ship things. I should have learned after the first mess! Apparently the girls swam in the Styrofoam filled box!

For being so cute they really did made a mess. I guess I still love them just the same though!

I Spoke Too Soon!

Well, I opened my big mouth and complained about the sunny cold weather yesterday and look what I got today! I has been snowing since I woke up at 8 and it is still snowing 12 hours later.

I'm sorry I complained and got worse weather but you will still never get me to say 30 degree weather is pleasant! It might be better than blizzard conditions...but not pleasant!

Soap

So, has anyone ever used a 12 dollar bar of soap? I hadn't...until today! I have had this bar of soap in the "unmentionables" drawer because it smells so good. My sister T bought it for me on a girls trip to NYC. It is made by a company named FRESH and the scent is lemon sugar. (I have the Sugar perfume and I love that too! I wish you could smell through the computer because I'm sure you'd all love it too!) So, I decided that it wasn't smelling much anymore through my drawer so I thought I would actually use it. It was much softer than my regular soap (if that makes sense) and produced more bubbles when I scrubbed with it. Although I love how it smells, I think I won't be using it on a regular basis once it's gone! Dove has seen me through many years, and hopefully many to come!
I will, however, be buying a new bar of soap to freshen up my drawer! Good thing there is a Sephora near by!

Alternate Universe

Okay people, I think I am stuck in some alternate universe. I was just watching the weather and the weather man said today would be a PLEASANT day in the 30's. What? Do you consider 30 degree's pleasant? Hello, when I still have to add layers to my natural body...that is not pleasant. I'll give you 60 degree's being pleasant...not 30. Sure it's better than 1 degree...but still not pleasant!

The picture is from Christmas time...don't worry...my Christmas decorations are not still up!

Sunday Shoes

On a side note about shoes...I don't own all these shoes as some have assumed! I would gladly take any of them you want to buy me. I wear an 8 1/2 if you need to know! I did try to find new red shoes this past week and was unsuccessful both here and in Boston. Of course, when you want to spend your money you can't find the right shoes!

FEAR

Okay people...what does this look like to you? What's that...a can of rolls. Well, technically, you are right. I usually buy these rolls to have on hand just in case we need a little something extra with our dinner. Although I can make pretty good homemade rolls, I don't always have the time, so these work.

So when you see this can and see rolls, I see the can and see fear. Fear you say? Yes, FEAR. I have a phobia of opening cans that pop at any time. I hate pulling back the paper and not knowing at what moment the can will burst and send my heart pounding. What's that...you say I'm being dramatic...no people...opening these cans hurt my heart. I usually have R open them or just suck it up and deal with the fear for the good of my family. I know, no food is worth all the fear, but I suppose I will survive!

Thank You to Running!

So, in celebration of the fact that I have not missed a week of running in 26 weeks I have prepared a thank you speech for everything that has helped me! (OK, I did miss the week I had bronchitis and a sinus infection...but I think that was excused!)

First and foremost I would like to thank my running shoes. I love my asics and am grateful to H, R, and J for introducing me to them this past summer in Colorado! They are so comfortable and it is just a bonus that they have red on them!

I do think they would be better if they did my run for me, but short of that...they are great!

A special thanks to my MP3 player and all the artists that keep me going when I have wanted to stop! Although there are many to thank, a special thanks to Maroon 5, Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, and Mary J for keeping me movin!

Thanks to my 90's hairband that has kept the hair out of my eyes while I am running. I can't tell you how annoyed I get when I can't focus on the run and have to focus on my hair! I know it isn't cute...but it does it's job!

Thanks to my socks that were also introduced to me this past summer by H. I love the cusshieness of them and they never feel like they are falling.

Thanks to Old Navy for my selection of tank tops to run in. Those of you who have worked out with me know that I always tuck my shirt sleeves into my bra so they don't bug me. I have solved this delima thanks to the sleeveless shirt...also known as the tank top!

Without my treadmill all this running would not have been possible. I guess I could run outside in negative degree weather but I never would! Another thanks to my water heater that I stare at while running. I have had many one sided conversations with that thing while running!

To my glass of water that is waiting for me when I am done running I am profoundly grateful!

To my little girls, B and M, thanks for playing and working out you little arguments while I run. Thank you also for waiting to get your hair done until after I am finished running!

And finally, thanks to seventeen pounds lost...and hopefully not to be found again... my runs have gotten a bit easier.
I don't know that I will ever love running like some people do. I wish I woke upo and craved it each day but I don't. I have come to realize that I need running though. It helps me feel good about myself and keep my emotions in check. Hopefully then next post about running will be when I have run for 50 weeks straight!

Sunday Shoes!!

I could use a new red pair!!

Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day...or I guess post Valentine's day I should say! We had a fun day around here! The day started with the girls waking up and finding their rooms heart attacked! They both loved their hearts and have not wanted to take them down!!

R brought me these beautiful pink roses the night before Valentine's day which was fun. The girls were probably just as excited about the flowers as I was! They were so happy daddy brought them flowers!

M came home from school with a bag full of Valentine's and B quickly went and got her Valentine's she got from her little play group in the morning. M was so kind to B and let her help open all of her fun cards and candy. The funny thing is both girls don't really like too many kinds of candy so they only really got excited about the m&m's!

Valentine's night we ate dinner by candle light. M requests doing this quite often and I should probably do it more!

Before we started dinner I put a gift on each of their plates! Growing up we always had some sort of candy or small little gift that my mom put on our plates as our valentine's!

M loves her new pink heart webkinz! B loves it too, so there has been quite a bit of borrowing of the webkinz, next time, maybe the same gifts!!

M did like her Elmo puzzle she got though! She is really good at her puzzel's...we had to convince her to eat instead of play with her new puzzel.

I made homemade brownies in a heart shape for a special dessert. Brownies or M's favorite treat and B enjoys them too! We had a fun day as a family. Valentine's used to be all about romance and it is still that way to and that is still nice but it has become so fun for me since I have had kids. They get so excited and we make it a day about showing them how much we love them and spending time with them!

I hope your Valentine's day was great and we love so many of you!!

927

927...three little numbers that mean a lot to me today! Last night I got in bed at 9:27~ I don't think I have been in bed that early since middle school! R was really tired and I figured I was tired to and would just go to bed! The only problem was I woke up at 5:57 and could not go back to sleep! I laid in bed until 6:36 trying to convince my body to go back to sleep but it wasn't convinced! I finally got up and ran and got ready for the day before the girls were up! It feels so good to be all ready before they are up...maybe this will become a habit...maybe it won't!!
